The transit and entry rules for your passport at that airport, in plain words, with the official link and the date we researched it.
How much time do I really have?
We take off immigration, the trip to the city and back, and 2 hours before your next flight. What's left is your real time outside.
What can I do with it?
Ready plans for 6, 10, 16 and 24 hours, plus where to leave your bags, rest, and the free airport tours most travellers don't know about.
Common questions
How long does a layover need to be to leave the airport?
It depends on the airport. You need time to get through immigration, travel to the city and back, and be at the airport about 2 hours before your next flight. At Singapore that can work with 6 hours; at Istanbul you need around 10. The checker does the maths for you.
Do I need a visa to leave the airport?
Sometimes. It depends on your passport and the country you're passing through. Every answer here links to the official source and shows the date it was researched.
What happens to my checked bags?
On a single ticket, checked bags usually go straight through to your final destination. Ask at check-in to be sure.
Do I have to go through security again?
Yes. Coming back from the city you go through departure immigration and security again. The 2-hour buffer in the checker covers this.
Is Layover Pass free?
Yes. Checking a layover and reading the plans is free.
